Artist and Art (pictured).

“The second tumbril empties and moves on; the third comes up. Crash!--And the knitting-women, never faltering or pausing in their Work, count Two.”

-Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

Not since Madame Defarge has Parisian-inspired needlework been so revolutionary. In this case, rather than knitting the names of the damned into a death shawl, this artist can potentially help save the community that wove the yarn.

Michele Iansiti is an artisan who resides in the Town of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Her Mona Lisa smile is usually framed with silver hair, but in this photo she sports an ensemble that won her first prize in a costume contest in Reno this Halloween.

Her artful loops and calculating expertise have produced APACHACUTI’s first monokini prototype. Crocheted from Quechua yarn, Iansiti’s architecture will bring a tear to your eye.

IF YOU ARE IN THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES AND WOULD LIKE TO BE A "FIT MODEL" PLEASE REACH OUT
